Daoist Health-Building and Longevity Exercises Assist a Good Life

In recent years, I have visited a number of different
places, and after having had discussions with many people, I am of the opinion
that many neglect their health. The
general attitude is that self-cultivation can be ignored, and that the body can
be left to deal the best it can with all the internal and external pressures
that come to bear upon it during a lifetime.
This probably explains why it is that I have had to participate in
funerals that simply should not have been happening for people aged between 40
– 50 years old. Many of these people
strived all their lives to make a name for themselves, and to become rich,
mostly with little to show for it at the end of the day. This type of struggle filled their minds and
bodies with much destructive anger, or bad qi.
In the last decade, the mortality rate in China has increased amongst workers, who die from health issues related to stress and over-work. At around the age of 40 years old, the body starts to decline and tiredness sets in both during and after the working day. Many go to hospital for medical examinations, and the results show many problems. This is not surprising, because according to Daoist texts that record the human life-cycle, this is the age where there is often a sudden and dramatic decline in health.
I have critically mentioned (many times on this blog), how many people spend their youth in a frivolous manner, wasting their essential energy pursuing petty achievements and wealth. When we get to 40 years of age, this is when the real cost of living unwisely in our youth becomes the most evident. This is because people never made any time in their modern, busy lives to take care of their own bodies through the knowledge preserved within the Daoist teachings.
The Daoist health-sustaining and longevity teachings contained in the classic (and ancient) texts, contain very profound instructions about how to heal the body and maintain its optimum functioning. This is achieved through the correct practice of self-cultivation that nourishes the spirit (shen), the life-essence (jing), and the vital force (qi). Actually, many people think Daoist practice is too hard, but in reality there are quite simple exercises that balance yin and yang immediately, and that anyone can practice to the benefit of their own health. In recent years I have accepted many disciples who have come to train with me because of their poor health. After disciplining their minds and bodies, and correctly applying the Daoist teachings, their health has improved dramatically in many cases, and they have created a balanced lifestyle for themselves. Their good effort in Daoist self-cultivation paid a very good dividend. Their life-essence (which was deficient when they arrived), was strengthened and balanced as the yin and yang energy was clearly defined and correctly applied. The changes started inside their minds and bodies, and when their training reached a certain level of attainment, these changes permeated out into the environment – positively transforming their individual lives.
My great grandfather – Zhao Bichen (1860-1942) – was motivated primarily by the compassionate act of spreading good health and long-life throughout China and the world. Robust good health has no national boundaries, and cannot be limited to a single individual, group, or nation. Good health and longevity belongs to everyone and this is the foundational premise of the Qianfeng Prenatal School. This is why I – Zhao Ming Wang – as the Qianfeng family lineage inheritor, have initiated the Daoist policy of ‘One hundred years of life – one hundred years of health’. Daoist practice can and does benefit society. When it is taught properly, conventional medicines are not required, or are required to a lesser extent. My method is to strengthen the (mind) and body through correct Daoist exercises, and much of this instruction is ‘secret’ in that I must personally meet and train with individuals so that I can correctly convey the appropriate teachings. Anyone can start to learn (from books), as this has a number of limited benefits, but a student must seek-out a qualified master to be properly initiated into the higher aspects of the Daoist teachings. Train for your own health, the health of your family, (the health of the nation, and the health of the world).

道家性命双修养生的意义
近几年来我走访了很多地区,与各界人士和朋友交流人生价值,生命健康的话题。而让我感到很多人士忽略了自己的健康,忽略了自己身体能承受外在和内在的极限压力。同时我也参加了本不该参加的多次葬礼,他们都是40到50之间的年龄,同时在事业和经济上都小有名气,而含恨无奈而去。
近十年来我国因工作劳累过度突发性死亡率不断上升,大部分恼力工作者在40以后感觉身体出现了体力下降,工作一天下来很疲劳,甚至到医院体检发现自己的身体出现了很多问题,按道家生命周期论述此时是生命衰退最快的周期。
当我们经历人生四十余载,把青春经历都用在追求自我价值当中,各自都小有成绩的时候,而把自己的身体健康丢到一边。以前我在博文中多次提到这一点,要停下来修整一下为自己的身体充充电。
中国道家养生功夫,性命双修传承着道家养生文化的经典,他是调理人体阴阳平衡,增补人体内在精、气、神非常行之有效的功夫,其养生外炼功法简单易学。近几年来我相继收了不少因身体欠佳的徒弟,他们在人生价值上都创造了自己的一片天地,此时感觉身体欠佳,经过了解道家养生功夫,是运用道家功夫内在增补自身精气不足,调理自身阴阳平衡,达到从内而外的增补。经过学习大家都有所收获,同时也体会到了中国道家养生的神奇玄妙之处。
