The philosophy that comprises the body of knowledge that defines Philosophical Daoism is the product of thousands of years of scientific endeavour involving the subjects of health, hygiene, fitness and medicine. This process of continuous research eventually formulated the well-known developmental techniques collectively referred to as ‘Essential Life Mind-Body’ (性命双修 – Xing Ming Shuang Xiu) self-cultivation. Due to its multi-discipline origin, and given the fact that many talented individuals have contributed to its historical evolution, its teachings are not easy to understand and require expert guidance to both comprehend and put into practice. In this regard, these teachings maybe logically described as ‘mysterious’ because they appear confusing in their depth and bewildering in their breadth to the untrained individual. This training systematically expels ‘illness’ and ‘disease’ from the mind and body, and ensures that no further negativity can manifest.
In this thoroughly modern-era, the subject of ‘Essential Life Mind-Body’ (性命双修 – Xing Ming Shuang Xiu) self-cultivation – known to be highly effective even outside of China – has been subject to extensive scientific investigation. Even within the most advanced Western countries, and despite positive test results (and other important observations), the best foreign thinkers are not able to formulate a proper understanding. This is because ‘Essential Life Mind-Body’ (性命双修 – Xing Ming Shuang Xiu) self-cultivation developed and evolved within a completely different cultural milieu that has no historical or cultural correspondence with the West. As a Chinese science, it represents a ‘different’ way of using the mind and body in a logical and rational manner.
What has developed is two distinct medical traditions that interpret the human body, its processes and its functionality. Whereas in the West, their medical tradition focuses upon the ‘Nervous System’ (神经系统 – Shen Jing Xi Tong), the traditional Chinese medical system emphasises the ‘closing’ of acupuncture points (巧 – Qiao) that run along the various qi (氣) energy channels (经脉 - Jing Mai) – also known as ‘meridians’ in Western translations. Therefore, the Philosophical Daoist concepts of ‘bodily fluid’ (津液 – Jin Ye), ‘Golden Fluid’ (金液 – Jin Ye), and ‘Pure Fluid’ (玉液 – Yu Ye) cannot be conceived or analysed through Western medical terminology. If Daoist self-cultivation is practised correctly and with the proper guidance, then these three liquids have a definite purpose and manifestation which varies according to level of attainment, environment and age, etc.
During the initial stages of Daoist self-cultivation, it is important to preserve and gather ‘essential nature’ (精 – Jing) according to definite and precise instructions. If this ‘law’ (法 – Fa) is correctly transmitted and appropriately received, then this beginning stage of not wasting ‘jing’ can be achieved. However, if this practice is not correct, but is only partially effective, then the congealed ‘jing’ can lead to all kinds of imbalances and negative effects in the (mind and) body. This is because both ‘jing’ and ‘qi’ can be preserved and built-up in the wrong manner. In this case, the (mind and) body can become ill and/or impaired in this or that manner. This can lead to an increase in amorous desire and the traversing of highly negative and unfulfilling pathways.
The tradition that I preserve and transmit to future generations is the ‘Thousand Peaks Pre-Natal School’ (千峰先天派 – Qian Feng Xian Tian Pai) – which is a distinct branch of Philosophical Daoism. This teaches the methodology of ‘Building Health’ (养生 – Yang Sheng) through ‘Internal Energy Centre Self-Cultivation’ (内丹 – Nei Dan) practice. This tradition represents the complete inheritance of the ‘Essential Life Mind-Body’ (性命双修 – Xing Ming Shuang Xiu) body of knowledge, a transmission that is pristine and which does not have any gaps in its understanding. Disciples are taught correctly without any omission in calming the mind and opening-up (and uniting) the qi energy channels. A calm (and still) mind looks within with a focused and highly concentrated vigour, and in so doing initiates the entire training experience. In the early stages, a fully qualified Qianfeng Master will press (and otherwise manipulate) the acupressure points to help the disciple’s body (and mind) to ‘re-balance’. This is a matter of ‘unblocking’ the qi energy flow, which nourishes the inner organs, and the allows the ‘jing’ to flow efficiently and to be ‘gathered’ and ‘preserved’. The Qianfeng School was founded by my great grandfather – Zhao Bichen (赵避尘) – who wrote the book entitled 'The Secret Cultivation of Essential Nature and Eternal Life’ (性命法决明指 – Xing Ming Fa Jue Ming Zhi). Known in the West as ‘Taoist Yoga’, this book presents the foundational aspects of the Qianfeng School. Zhao Bichen initiated the modernisation drive of expanding the scope of Daoist teaching to include all the people of China without discrimination. Today, it is my duty to continue this Zhao Family tradition, and expand the Qianfeng teachings outside of China and into the rest of the world. In this regard, teachings must not be held back from the general public, and all must be made available.
This is why I - Zhao Ming Wang, who currently inhabits the very same house in Beijing as that occupied by our esteemed ancestor Zhao Bichen – have established the ‘Beijing Bichen Culture Media’ (北京壁尘文化传媒 – Bei Jing Bi Chen Wen Hua Chuan Mei) Exchange Project. Our headquarters is the ‘Beijing Hermitage’ (the purpose-built training area and ancestral shrine within the grounds of our home), and is a project designed to interface with the general public and provide genuine Daoist information, training opportunities and encouragement to anyone sincerely interested in training within the Qianfeng School. This project will also serve as an agency for cultural exchanges and open dialogues. The basis of this project is ‘compassion’ for all those who seek good health and a long life, with a particular emphasis upon assisting the elderly with medical advice and herbal information, particularly when individuals of advanced age express a wish to live in isolation in the hills. This is a matter of good instruction that generates a good and positive path through life, with the appropriate conditioning to be able to independently survive whilst living in the hills.

道家功夫为何会称之为神秘那?其实真正的道家功夫:性命双修不但神秘而且玄妙,她是近千年来华夏民族经过探索研究人体关巧,疾病,健康等多方科学形成的一部非常难得经典文献。
近代我们用科学论证研究道家性命双修功夫,从中发现就连西方国家都难以理解的奥秘。所以说她是神秘而玄妙的,道家在修炼中讲关巧与经脉,而在西医论证中只能归属神经系统,道家讲的津液,金液,玉液等用西医论证就无法分析了。而我们真正去体验道家功夫,以上这些不同液体就会产生不同效果。
道家初步功夫中有一部功夫,吞精法,就此法而言我们都可以做到,这是初炼者的基本功。但是如果不会饮吞同样的精液就会产生不一样的效果,一种可以增补体内精气,一种则转换成淫邪之精扰乱心君。
道家千峰先天派内丹养生功夫,是传承道家性命双修功夫体系完整,可喜的是此派传承体系没有断层,完整继承了从外炼功夫,内炼功夫,以及保留下来宝贵的调理经络,开关展窍之法。此派始祖:千峰老人赵避尘所著《性命法决明指》以编入四库全书等子部道家道教类中,成为道家正统一脉。由千峰老人后裔赵明旺为遵从千峰老人心愿,道家功夫是为大中华人人健康为要,切不可吝啬普传大众为要。
赵明旺在千峰老人故居,北京昌平阳坊镇,千峰草堂组建《北京壁尘文化传媒》面向大众,主要以研究,学习,交流为一体的传承体系。千峰老人后裔赵明旺每年不辞辛苦都要去东北地区进山采药,为徒弟及有缘人调理身体,帮助进入练功佳境。
