The Health of the Respected Elderly is very Important

On the 1st of May (2010), I – Zhao Ming Wang was invited as the lineage inheritor of Zhao Bichen’s Qianfeng School, to teach a group of retired government cadres in Beijing. I explained that now that living conditions were generally much better in China, and that food and drink was plentiful, we all had to be careful with regard to our diet. It is important to be very careful about what we put into our bodies, as this has the potential to either boost or diminish our health. When we get older we must make allowances and adjustments to our physical condition and understand that if we do not we run the risk of depleted qi energy and essential nature (jing) deficiency. The aging of the body is a natural physiological event. As we are well aware of this phenomenon we can plan ahead and apply logic to the situation. We must be careful of the bad health implications of an opulent lifestyle and try to moderate what we imbibe. This means that we must be mindful of qi energy flow throughout the body, and the strength of the essential nature (jing) and spirit (shen). As well as a good diet it is important to exercise regularly (gong fa) to help ensure a good and robust healthy body and mind. Keeping active is important as it keeps the blood and qi energy flowing through the entire body and aids such ailments as age-related forgetfulness, insomnia, insufficient blood-flow to the brain, and high blood-pressure, etc, as well as help alleviate various other chronic diseases.
