Profound and Miraculous Daoist Self-Cultivation that Strengthens Health
Original Chinese Language Article By: Qianfeng Daoist Master Zhao Ming Wang (赵明旺)
(Translated by Adrian Chan-Wyles PhD)
The correct cultivation of the ‘Great Way’ (大道 – Da Dao) is only achieved through the adherence to exact and precise instruction. The fundamental truth is only realised in the mind and body when authentic self-cultivation has taken place, but what is the method of this self-cultivation? The correct cultivation of the Dao (道) is reliant upon the dual concepts of fundamental essence (性 – Xing), and the correct path of life (命 – Ming). Fundamental essence is realised through the cultivation of the mind (and body), whilst the practice of ‘virtue’ (德 – De) is achieved through the discipline of the body (and mind) by keeping away from the harmful actions that exist in the world, and the negative consequences of such actions. The kidney area is the place where the essence of ‘ming’ (or pure yin and yang energy) is stored. When a lifestyle is shallow because it chases impermanent fulfilment, then the essential nature (精 – Jing) and qi (气) energy become diminished and are scattered. If you know how to live correctly, and understand the Daoist training properly, then it is possible to increase and gather both ‘jing’ and ‘qi’.
The Great Dao can be succinctly explained in these brief words, but what is said here is profound and not empty of meaning. Even if a lord lived a life of debauchery, how could he transcend this situation (without accessing proper and correct Daoist training)?
When the mind (and body) are trained correctly, the profound (and deep) Dao is realised.
Cultivating ‘xing’ and ‘ming’ is beyond words.
In three years, the understanding of these two aspects manifests.
In essence true self-cultivation is beyond value and cannot be purchased
However, many people do not understand the need for purity.
Both virtue and goodness emanate from a cultivated mind.
Those seeking the True Dao must practice correct self-cultivation.
Five years ago a practitioner was sick,
Today his kidney area (and body) are full of ‘jing’ and ‘qi’.
